Broward County is conducting a dune and beach restoration project along a section of Hollywood Beach, with completion expected by late April. The project involves delivering and placing sand along the shoreline. Construction will proceed from north to south, with no road closures or detours, and work will occur on weekdays from sunrise to sunset, according to the City of Hollywood.

Heavy machinery will be on site, with contractors using the parking lot between Bougainvilla Terrace and Azalea Terrace for staging. Parking in this area will be limited through the end of April. Residents and visitors are asked to follow contractor signage for safe movement around the site. This month, sand placement occurred from Dania Pier to Meade Street, followed by work from Meade Street to Cleveland Street. No dunes are planned between Cleveland Street and Harrison Street.

Residents near Meade Street experienced temporary beach access disruptions during sand deliveries, while alternate access points remained available. The next phase of the project will begin near Bougainvilla Terrace, with sand placement extending the shoreline north from Harrison Street, before resuming southward in March toward the southern end of Hollywood’s coastline.

Beach access points near Bougainvilla Terrace will be temporarily closed during sand deliveries, while nearby pathways will remain open. The project timeline is subject to change, and updates will be provided as work progresses.
