Residents in Dundalk can look forward to a new shopping option come springtime: Burlington, previously known as Burlington Coat Factory, has confirmed the opening of a new store at 1400 Merritt Blvd., the German Hill Center. This relocation, moving from its former location at Eastpoint Mall, will mark the company's continued presence in the area, fulfilling the community's retail needs.
The much-anticipated move was formally announced last Friday, indicating the closure of the Eastpoint Mall store; the new store will take over the vacancy left by Big Lots, which shuttered its doors in late 2024, and although temporary signage hinted at Burlington's arrival since September 2025, clarity regarding the fate of the mall-based store had been amiss until now, reported The Dundalk Eagle.
In alignment with the company's ethos of rejuvenated design, the new store will flaunt a modernized layout intended to enhance the browsing and shopping experiences—this includes structured and wider aisles complemented by clear, bold signage to aid in-store navigation. This updated store design is part of Burlington's initiative to refresh its stores, making it easier for customers to spot and purchase well-known brand offerings, as per the information obtained by WMAR-2 News.
The arrival of this new Burlington location is a significant addition to the state, with it becoming the 26th store to open in Maryland, reflecting the company's expansion and investment in the region. The German Hill Center can anticipate an uptick of activity once the doors of this store open, inviting residents to explore its diverse selection of merchandise. Additional information on the new store opening will be provided closer to the launch date, as the eagerness in the Dundalk community mounts for the spring season.
