This new app, which is now available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, allows users to get critical alerts, look for inmate information, and even view the local sex offender registry.
The app does not only serve as a medium for emergency alerts but it also offers access to contacts within the Sheriff's Office divisions, including the School Resource Officers, this function essentially creating an accessible bridge between citizens and the officers tasked with protecting their children in schools. Moreover, the community can submit tips confidentially, gather information about recruitment if they're contemplating a career in law enforcement, and stay abreast of community outreach events that aim to strengthen ties between law enforcement and the public they serve, the app exists side by side with the regular modes of communication yet offers a streamlined, modern approach to them.
According to a Facebook post by the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office, the app is intended to "stay updated on upcoming community outreach events" and provide easy access to "other community resources." These resources assist residents in navigating the often-complex web of law enforcement services and policies.
