Charlotte will experience variable weather conditions through late January. Today’s forecast includes a slight chance of rain between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., followed by clearing skies and mostly sunny conditions. The high is expected to be near 54°F, with southwest wind gusts reaching up to 23 mph. The chance of precipitation remains at 20%, according to the National Weather Service.
Tonight, rain chances increase to 50 percent, mainly after 10 p.m. Cloud cover will increase, and temperatures are expected to drop to around 35°F. Rainfall totals are expected to remain below one-tenth of an inch. On Sunday, forecasts call for rain and snow showers before 3 p.m., with little to no snow accumulation expected.
Early next week is expected to bring drier conditions. Monday, including Martin Luther King Jr. Day, is forecast to be sunny with highs near 47°F and nighttime lows around 22°F. Tuesday is also expected to be sunny, with highs near 41°F.
Midweek conditions are forecast to remain mostly clear. Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy with lows near 31°F. Thursday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 54°F, followed by partly cloudy conditions overnight and lows around 33°F. Friday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high near 49°F.
The National Weather Service reports no hazardous weather is expected from Sunday through Friday, and no significant impacts to roads or bridges are anticipated.
