
Charlotte County has chosen to spotlight the achievements of one of its corporate citizens, Cheney Brothers, with the Charlotte County Excellence in Business Award. Considered one of the top honors for private sector enterprises in the area, the accolade is given to companies exemplifying effective leadership and positive economic influence within the community.
The Charlotte County Economic Development Office praised Cheney Brothers for their success, job creation, and workforce development. The food distribution company, which employs over 500 locally, is a key player in Southwest Florida and is known for supporting the community during challenging times.
In a statement obtained by Charlotte County official news, Maria Vastola, the marketing manager for the Charlotte County Economic Development Office, praised the company's approach to community relations. "When our community faces challenges, Cheney Brothers is always there," she said. "They lead quietly, show up consistently, and do the right thing without seeking recognition. That kind of leadership makes a real difference for Charlotte County."
Jason McGuire and Tom Boxold accepted the award on behalf of Cheney Brothers. The ceremony was low-key, reflecting the company’s focus on quietly supporting the community.
