A recent fire in Chester County saw local firefighters spring into action to extinguish flames at a structure reported to be a chicken coop. Last Friday night, Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company was called out to assist West Grove Fire Company at 18 White Oak Road in Landenberg, Pennsylvania. According to a social media post from Aetna's official Facebook page, the fire involved a 20-foot by 20-foot chicken coop.
Squad 9 and Quint 10 were reportedly first on the scene and assumed the primary roles in firefighting operations. They were supplied water by West Grove Tanker 22, which further facilitated their efforts.
The assisting team from Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company took swift action by aiding in extinguishing the flames and ensuring the fire did not extend to other structures. They remained on site overhauling the scene until their release by command at approximately 10:34 p.m., as stated in the company’s post. There were no immediate reports of injuries or the fire's impact on the surrounding community.
