
A Chicago man faces multiple felony charges following his arrest in connection with a shooting that left a 22-year-old woman seriously injured. Pierre Davis, 28, from the 7900 block of S. Ingleside Ave., has been charged with a slew of felonies including attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm, according to a Chicago Police Department news release.
The incident occurred on January 23, 2026, with police apprehending Davis just minutes after the reported shooting on the same block. During his encounter with law enforcement, Davis allegedly fired at officers who were responding to the scene, prompting two officers to discharge their weapons, striking the suspect. Following the confrontation, Davis was taken into custody and subsequently charged. His detention hearing was scheduled for January 26, 2026, at the courthouse situated at 2600 S. California.
Besides attempted murder and aggravated battery, the defendant has been charged with domestic battery - aggravated, aggravated assault against peace officers, and felony possession of a weapon. The Chicago Police Department, in partnership with the Cook County State's Attorney’s Office, stated Davis also faces charges for reckless discharge of a firearm endangering others, which puts him up against a total of sixteen felony counts.
