A late-night karaoke run in Aurora turned into a violent crime scene when a man was stabbed outside a bar just after 1:35 a.m. on Dec. 25, and police say the two men responsible are still on the loose.

According to officers, the pair took off in a blue SUV before police arrived, leaving the victim with serious injuries and detectives with more questions than answers. Investigators have released images of the suspects and are asking anyone who was near South Havana Street around that time to speak up.

"One suspect held the man down while the other stabbed him," Aurora police told local media, as reported by KDVR. The victim was stabbed in the torso and rushed to a nearby hospital, where officials say he was treated for serious injuries.

Suspects, getaway SUV and bar scene

Detectives describe both suspects as men in their late 40s to early 50s. One stood out for his braided beard, with a single strand hanging from his chin, according to police. The two were seen running from the parking lot toward a nearby intersection, then leaving the area in a blue SUV, KDVR reported.

The attack happened just outside Whispers On Havana, a karaoke bar at 1535 S. Havana St. that typically draws late-night crowds.

How tipsters can help

Investigators are hoping someone saw something, heard something, or caught something on camera. Anyone with information is urged to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867) or submit a tip online. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may qualify for a reward of up to $2,000.

Police say any photos or videos from the area around the time of the stabbing, no matter how minor they might seem, could help move the case forward.

Stabbings in Aurora under scrutiny

The case lands in the middle of a troubling pattern for the city. Aurora has seen several high-profile stabbing investigations in recent months, including two early-morning fatal stabbings that police said were likely connected earlier in 2025. Reporting by Denver7 notes that detectives frequently lean on public tips and surveillance footage to crack these kinds of cases.
