Heads up, San Antonians looking to get involved with city planning: The City of San Antonio wants you. If shaping the future of the city sounds like your jam, consider applying for a spot on the Planning Commission. With the application deadline of January 28 swiftly approaching, now's the time to step up.
Whether you're a seasoned pro in urban planning or just passionate about your city's growth and development, the Commission is casting a wide net for its latest members. As the Planning Commission works directly under the city's watchful eye, advising on everything from the Master Plan to the Unified Development Code, they play an instrumental role in plotting San Antonio's future—a future hopeful to balance economic/vibrancy and historical preservation.
Meetings are held twice a month at 1901 S. Alamo St., convening on the second and fourth Wednesday at 2 p.m. sharp. For those interested, the nitty-gritty about the Commission's role can be found on the city's website.
