Calling all local businesses and organizations in Clark County: Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick is on the lookout for exhibitors to participate in what's being billed as the largest Kids Safety Fair to date. Set for March 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Torrey Pines Resource Center, the event is designed to engage and educate families on various aspects of child safety, from car seat checkups to drowning prevention. But here's the deal - they're actively seeking contributors to help make the event a success.
According to a press release from Clark County, the fair will offer an array of activities, including interactive stations and live demonstrations, all with the goal to directly impact child safety in a positive manner. The organizers intend to quite literally drive home the importance of these safety measures by not allowing any sales at the event. Instead, the focus is purely on fostering a safe space for play and learning.
Spots for exhibitors are up for grabs at no cost. The catch is that participating organizations must provide kid-focused, interactive safety programming. "This is an opportunity for our community partners to directly impact child safety while connecting with families in a fun, meaningful way," Commissioner Kirkpatrick told the county's official website. With the plan to make this the largest kids safety fair the county has witnessed thus far, the fair hopes to draw a huge crowd, promising free food, games, and entertainment.
Those interested in exhibiting should quickly to reach out to David McGowan at [email protected], or step over to the Clark County website to fill out an application, seeing as space is being doled out on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to mark your calendars; the application deadline is a firm date, February 2, at 5 p.m. The Torrey Pines Resource Center, located at 2900 N. Torrey Pines Drive in Las Vegas, will serve as the backdrop for this community-centered event.
