The Clayton Police Department (CPD) has released a summary of incidents occurring between January 19th and 25th, revealing a range of policing activities from traffic accidents to combating drug crimes. Over the period, the CPD responded to a total of 406 calls for service, assisting other agencies on 47 occasions and dealing with one reported burglary, as per their official news release.

Monday morning saw officers quickly respond to a collision at the intersection of Big Bend Blvd. and Clayton Rd., where two vehicles clashed due to one turning unexpectedly in front of the other. According to the Clayton Police Department's report, "neither driver was injured," but the incident resulted in heavy vehicle damage and required towing. Similar circumstances unfolded on S. Hanley Rd. on Saturday night, with both drivers thankfully walking away unscathed.

Scammers targeting the vulnerable seems to perpetually persist as a resident fell, unfortunately, victim to a Medicare scam. Having provided her personal information over the phone to a faux representative, she later learned the rue experience and was guided to file a complaint via IC3.gov.

Drug-related incidents also marred the week's events. Officers dispatched to an apartment building's stairwell located a man in possession of suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia. While one suspect managed to elusively escape prior to the arrival of the law enforcement, the CPD was able to detain the second individual before he could abscond. "Officers seized all items as evidence and submitted them to the St. Louis County Crime Lab for analysis," as stated in the official report by the Clayton Police Department.

A burglary on N. Rosebury concluded the week, with residents discovering break-ins and thefts within their storage rooms. Stolen items included winter clothing and electronics. No suspects have yet to be identified, leaving the residents to deal with the aftermath and the police to continue their investigation into the trespass. Residents or individuals with information regarding any of these incidents are urged to contact CPD at (314) 645-3000.
