The fire, which reportedly began on the first-floor porch, rapidly spread to the second floor and beyond into the interior of the home. As the flames engulfed sections of the residence, the Cleveland Fire Department stated that all human occupants had been safely evacuated, and the fire was brought under control within a tight 20-minute window.
However, amidst the chaos, a pair of dogs named Bear and Lola found themselves caught in the danger zone. Thanks to the quick action of firefighters, both animals were rescued unharmed. It is a moment of stark reminder as to the importance of having closed doors within our homes. Specifically, the canine on the first floor was shielded from the fire's wrath by one such barrier, a small yet significant action that ultimately spared a life. "That is why we encourage residents to close bedroom doors at night. That closed door can save your life," the Cleveland Fire's social media post earnestly advised.
In terms of damage, the household did not escape unscathed. The accidental fire caused an estimated cost of $150,000 in damages. However, in a stroke of good fortune, there were no reported injuries.
