The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting on I-77 near Remount Road in the Westover Division. Officers responded shortly after midnight yesterday to the 1000 block of Vail Road following a call for assault with a deadly weapon.
Upon arrival at Atrium Health Mercy, police found 20-year-old Trevohn Maleek Marshall suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transferred to Atrium Main, where he was pronounced dead. Two other individuals with gunshot injuries were admitted in serious condition at Novant Main.
Crime Scene Search quickly processed the scene and collected evidence, while detectives from the Homicide Unit and Westover Division began their investigation. Support units from CMPD’s Operations Command, the Charlotte Fire Department, and MEDIC also assisted.
The deceased has been identified as Trevohn Maleek Marshall following notification of the next of kin. The investigation remains ongoing, led by Detective Condron. CMPD’s Public Affairs Office will provide updates and is asking the public for any information.
