
Tragedy struck the Columbus community last month as a well-being check turned into a homicide investigation; officers dispatched to a residence on the 1400 block of N. 4th Street found two individuals with fatal gunshot wounds. The incident, which occurred last Tuesday, December 30, 2025, claimed the lives of Mr. Spencer Tepe and Mrs. Monique Tepe, who were pronounced deceased shortly after officers arrived at the scene.
According to a recent social media post by the Columbus Division of Police, the incident happened at approximately 10:04 a.m., while the victims were pronounced dead by 10:11 a.m. Authorities are now reaching out to the public for assistance. Investigators are seeking digital evidence that may shed light on the events leading to the couple's untimely demise.
The city's Homicide Unit has cast a wide net for clues, asking for videos, photographs, or any digital evidence from the area bordered by Summit St. to N. Grant Ave. and E. 7th Ave. to E. 11th Ave - spanning from 12 am to 9 am on the day of the murders. In an effort to garner crucial information that might accelerate the resolution of this case, officials have provided a QR code to facilitate the anonymous submission of such materials, without the need for an account.
