On January 6, Juarez Sanchez-Montiel, a 41-year-old Mexican national, appeared in court for the first time on charges of perjury and immigration fraud. According to a federal indictment dated November 18, 2025, Sanchez is accused of providing false information on his non-immigrant visa application, as reported by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
According to the indictment, Sanchez has a prior history of being charged with serious sexual offenses involving minors. In November 2021, he allegedly provided false information to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on his visa application. He responded negatively when asked about any crimes committed without arrest or involvement in sexual misconduct under duress, which the indictment cites as material misrepresentation.
Court records show that Sanchez was previously convicted of multiple sex offenses, including statutory rape and crimes against children under 15. The proceedings in Montgomery County Superior Court revealed that two children were born to victims under the age of 13. On August 19, 2024, Sanchez was sentenced to 216 to 320 months in prison and was required to register as a sex offender.
The investigation into Sanchez is part of Operation False Haven, an ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) initiative aimed at identifying individuals who fraudulently obtain immigration benefits. According to a statement reported by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle emphasized the agency’s focus on protecting children and maintaining the integrity of immigration laws. If convicted of the current charges, Sanchez could face up to 15 years in federal prison.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lori Warlick is handling the prosecution of the case against Sanchez. An indictment is not evidence of guilt, and Sanchez is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
