Houston-born Cajun chain BB's Tex-Orleans is steering its next outpost straight into Beaumont's Old Town, locking in 2325 Calder Ave. for a sprawling new location that targets an early April 2026 debut. The restaurant is slated to feature the brand's familiar lineup of po'boys, boils, and fried seafood, along with a big patio and family play area.
Owner Brooks Bassler told the Houston Chronicle that BB's signed the lease in August 2025 and that Beaumont will mark the chain's 12th location. Bassler said locals are already dialed into the brand's style of Tex-Orleans cooking, adding that they "100 percent get it, know it, crave it every single day."
The build-out covers roughly 8,200 square feet, with 3,200 square feet for indoor dining, seating about 70 guests plus a 10-seat bar. The patio will hold up to 175 people, including a covered area for 40 guests, a large kids’ play zone, and a 225-inch screen. Bassler, describing construction as entering its final stretch before the early April opening, told the Houston Chronicle, “You gotta eat crawfish on a patio.”
What To Expect From The Menu
BB's is bringing its Cajun and Gulf Coast-inspired playbook with it, highlighting po'boys, build-your-own boils, gumbo, chicken wings and fried seafood alongside a margarita-focused drink program. The chain's existing menus and location descriptions emphasize scratch-made soups, platters and boil options, a pattern likely to continue in Beaumont, as outlined by BB’s Tex‑Orleans.
Where It Fits In Old Town
Beaumont officials have been discussing incentives and zoning tweaks aimed at pumping new life into Calder Avenue and the surrounding historic district, including tax-abatement options and expedited permitting for projects in the corridor. Those efforts appear in public records from the City of Beaumont, while the 2325 Calder property is listed as part of the Old Town commercial mix on Crexi.
BB's has not yet released a detailed grand-opening schedule or a hiring page for the Beaumont restaurant. For now, the company is pointing to an early April 2026 opening window while construction wraps up, with more specifics on dates, menu rollout and job postings still to come.
