Dallas-based consultancy firm Masterplan has expanded its services and market grip with the recent acquisition of USA Engineers, a civil engineering and surveying firm known for its work across North Texas. The Dallas Business Journal reports that the move is expected to double the workforce of the combined entity within the next year and trigger a relocation to newer office spaces designed to accommodate the merger.
The deal targets broader capabilities, including zoning, planning, and infrastructure design, keeping an eye on efficiency, major homebuilders, and the development needs across the North Texas region. Masterplan Consultants, known for their zoning and land use expertise, now joins forces with USA Engineers' proficiency in civil engineering and surveying—forming an integrated solution for clients. "This acquisition strengthens what USA Engineers already does exceptionally well and positions the company for growth," Dallas Cothrum, CEO of Masterplan Consultants and USA Engineers, told MarketWatch.
USA Engineers, with a foundation dating back to 1982, will sustain its name and aims to continue providing uninterrupted service in its niche, while leveraging the synergies from the enlarged resources and shared expertise. They have been instrumental in developments such as Windmill Farms in Forney, Polo Ridge in Mesquite, and high-profile "lagoon" communities that are becoming a trend in North Texas living spaces.
Furthermore, the union promises a refined collaboration across diversified professional services, stretching from early planning, feasibility, to construction support. The combined efforts aim to shorten delivery timelines while enhancing the overall quality of service. Clients involved in complex infrastructure and development will be looked after by this new single team, which banks on a more seamless process, better resource management, and an expansive offering that includes site civil engineering, transportation engineering, water and wastewater infrastructure, among other services, according to a MarketWatch press release.
