
The investigation into a shooting that took the life of Zecqurie Fields, age 25, on Empire Central near the Northbound North Stemmons Freeway in Dallas is ongoing, with no arrests made as of yet, the Dallas Police Department informed the public. Fields, critically injured during an incident involving multiple shooting victims on New Year's Day, succumbed to the injuries on Monday.

The shooting occurred in the early hours of January 1, with Dallas Police responding at around 3:45 a.m. Five individuals, including Fields, were rushed to the nearest hospital by Dallas Fire-Rescue.
