Situated at the north end of Wash Park, the station's crew steadfastly answers the call to service, braving the cold to ensure a "solid hosebed to finish the week strong," according to the Denver Fire Department.
With a history stretching back to its original opening in 1924, located at Virginia & Franklin, the current station has been serving the community from the same site since 1975. Running consistent calls throughout the year, Station 21 reported a significant workload, having responded to 1,781 calls in 2025. Besides being a cornerstone of fire suppression and rescue, the station houses a specialized vehicle, named Hammer 3 (R21), a 2000 Freightliner FL112 M2 dump truck designed for spill control at hazmat incidents.
