In the pre-dawn quiet of Wednesday, January 14, a routine patrol took a turn along I-25 near Park Avenue in Denver. Denver Police Department's District 6 officers, Corporal Limon and Recruit Officer Oxby, encountered something out of the ordinary: a pedestrian wandering along the highway. In a city where the buzz of traffic is the constant backdrop, a solitary figure on foot on the interstate certainly draws the eye.
Upon engaging with the individual, a woman, the officers' routine check quickly elevated to an arrest scenario. As reported by the Denver Police Department, a search of records revealed multiple active warrants for her arrest. The woman, whose identity wasn't released, was navigating more than just the asphalt—it seems, she was walking a tightrope with the law.
But it wasn't just past transgressions that were to be her undoing that day. While in contact with her, officers found her in possession of numerous stolen financial transaction devices. It's unclear how she came to have these items, but what is clear is that her morning stroll resulted in additional charges being pressed against her. The litany now included her existing warrants and the freshly uncovered evidence of the stolen items.
