
Denver Police Department's early morning operation led to the capture of five individuals implicated in an armed street robbery, as reported in a recent social media post. After crashing a stolen vehicle near N. Tennyson St. and W. 41st Ave., the suspects fled on foot, prompting an immediate response from Denver patrol officers.
Four suspects were quickly apprehended by patrol officers on the scene. The specialized units, including DPD’s Metro SWAT team and the Drone Unit, were recruited to locate the remaining individual, who had evaded initial capture. A yard-by-yard search ensued in the neighborhood, revealing the outstanding suspect's hiding place. A SWAT officer's canine companion signaled an alert by a privacy fence; a drone operator subsequently confirmed a person was indeed concealed there. "The drone operator confirmed from their aerial vantage point that there was a person hiding on the other side of that fence," detailed by the Denver Police Department.
The final apprehension was conducted safely and strategically by the SWAT officers, resulting in the arrest of the armed juvenile. The juvenile male was arrested for Investigation of Aggravated Robbery and Possession of a Handgun by a Juvenile. Additionally, the operation resulted in the arrest of another adult male and a juvenile male, both for Investigation of Aggravated Robbery, as well as two juvenile females detained for Investigation of Criminal Trespass of a Motor Vehicle.
