In DeSoto, Texas, local police recently made an arrest that may have quickly thwarted a series of vehicle burglaries. Last Thursday, officers from the DeSoto Police Department's Charlie Shift were dispatched to the 1500 block of Tanglerose Court following a report of a suspicious individual peering into cars. The caller's surveillance footage allowed police to identify the suspect with precision.
A short while later, the same individual was spotted in the 1400 block of Dutchmans Creek, actively attempting to forcefully gain entry into another vehicle. Officers apprehended the suspect without further ado. The DeSoto Police Department, via a social media post, identified the individual in custody as 23-year-old Hubert Emmanuel Lee Thomas, from the nearby city of Cedar Hill.
During his arrest, officers discovered not only a stolen firearm but also property linked to multiple local car burglaries. As a result, Thomas is now facing several charges, including burglary of a motor vehicle—designated a Class-A Misdemeanor—and theft of a firearm, which is categorized as a State Jail Felony. "Great job by Charlie Shift!!!" the DeSoto Police Department lauded publicly in its announcement of the arrest and recovery.
