The DeSoto Police Department is actively investigating an unattended death that occurred on E. Wintergreen Road. According to a social media post published by the DeSoto Police Department, officers were called to the scene at about 3:00 PM on Tuesday following the discovery of a 21-year-old man found dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
The discovery was made by a friend of the deceased who had arrived at the apartment located in the 1100 block of E. Wintergreen Road. Once on the scene, emergency responders pronounced the man dead, and a firearm was found close to the body. Although details are still unfolding, and the police have yet to confirm the full story, the situation at present seems isolated. Police do not believe there is an immediate threat to the public.
As of now, the identity of the young man has not been released as authorities are in the process of notifying his family. The DeSoto Police, through the statement of G.
