In an effort to combat drug activity in Dorchester, police executed a search warrant that resulted in an arrest and the confiscation of illegal firearms and narcotics. Acting on intelligence from an ongoing investigation, officers from the District C-11 Drug Control Unit, joined by teams from Districts B-2 and B-3, conducted the operation at 191 Talbot Avenue last Friday, according to Boston Police Department.
Authorities were able to monitor and apprehend the main suspect without incident. The individual, later identified as Andy Alcantara-Beltre, was observed leaving the residence before entering a waiting vehicle at the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Bernard Street.
During the search warrant execution, police swept the apartment and recovered a loaded Protec .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol, ammunition, and a sum of U.S. currency, all suspected to be linked to illegal activity. Officers also found a large bag and several smaller bags containing a brown powdery substance believed to be fentanyl, along with multiple individually packaged bags of crack cocaine.
Evidence collected at the scene also included digital scales and drug packaging materials. Andy Alcantara-Beltre, 33, now faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm and trafficking a Class A substance weighing over 100 grams.
