The City of Dublin, Ohio is calling on its residents to show some love for their law enforcement officers. In a recent social media post on the official City of Dublin, Ohio - Government Facebook page, the city urged the community to participate in a day of appreciation for the Dublin Police. The call to action comes in honor of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Dubliners are encouraged to don blue attire, share supportive stories on social media using the hashtag #LEAD, and to directly send notes of gratitude to the Dublin Police Department (DPD).
"From the Dublin Justice Center to neighborhoods across our city, our officers serve with courage, professionalism and leadership every day," the City of Dublin, Ohio - Government post read. The DPD has long been intertwined with the community, and today, the city's pride is more than a sentiment—it's an action. In addition to wearing blue, community members have an opportunity to publicly and personally acknowledge the efforts of local officers.
Engagement from the Dublin community on social media has shown a mix of anecdotes and expressions of thanks. Officers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, those who have provided critical assistance, or simply demonstrated everyday acts of kindness, are being highlighted by grateful citizens.
