The City of Dunwoody will host an Open House for the Georgetown Small Area Plan on January 21, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the N. Shallowford Annex, 4470 N. Shallowford Road. Developed in collaboration with Atlanta-based planning and engineering firms TSW and Kimley-Horn, the plan is intended to support the implementation of elements of the city’s recently adopted Comprehensive Plan.

According to the City of Dunwoody, the Open House will provide an opportunity to review findings from the existing conditions analysis and examine proposed improvements and draft development guidance. The event will feature interactive activities to collect community feedback and help prioritize the plan’s recommendations. It will follow a drop-in format with informational boards and will not include a formal presentation.

Richard McLeod, Dunwoody’s Community Development Director, outlined a key objective of the planning effort. The plan is designed to provide a framework for guiding future development, enhancing mobility for pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and drivers, and supporting placemaking in the Georgetown area.

The Georgetown area, defined by Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Cotillion Drive, Peachford Road, and Brook Run Park, is included in Dunwoody’s development planning. N. Shallowford Road and Dunwoody Park are located within this area, and the small area plan is designed to outline guidance for its future development. The Open House is open to the public.
