In a noteworthy collaboration, the Fort Worth Public Library is banding together with the Fort Worth Fire Department to deliver free CPR and AED training sessions for adult residents during February. As detailed by the City of Fort Worth, these hands-on workshops will be conducted by professional EMTs and paramedics at various library locations.
The initiative aims to equip citizens with the basic knowledge to potentially save a life in critical situations. "The skills we will teach you could be the difference between life and death for your loved ones, coworkers and friends," Fire Department public information officer Craig Trojacek emphasized, per the City of Fort Worth website. No sign-up is required, and the sessions are accessible on a first-come, first-served basis, enhancing opportunities for community members to readily partake in the training.
The schedule spans several library branches across the city, starting with the Southwest Regional Library on Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. and concluding at the Northside Library on Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. It is significant to note, however, that while these sessions will impart crucial life-saving tactics, they do not extend to official certification courses.
