Last Saturday, the Durham Fire Department responded to a structure fire on the 1400 block of Morning Glory Avenue. Firefighters found a fire on the second story, producing heavy smoke, which they were able to extinguish within minutes.
According to a post on the department’s social media post, “Our firefighters were able to knock down a second story fire with heavy smoke in a matter of minutes.” Fortunately, all residents of the home escaped without injury.
Following the incident, the Durham Fire Department used the opportunity to share important safety advice with the public. In a Facebook post, they stated, “If your house is on fire, you should leave immediately and call 911,” emphasizing that no one should ever reenter a burning building. The reminder aims to reinforce safe practices for residents during fire emergencies.
