An Eagle Lake man is facing multiple counts of child pornography after detectives from the Polk County Sheriff's Office Cyber Crimes Unit acted on a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tip led to the discovery of a Google cloud account linked to the area where hundreds of files, suspected to contain children being sexually abused, were saved. A search warrant served at the man's home resulted in his arrest.
Isaac F. Khan, with a birthdate of April 11, 2001, was identified as the individual behind the Google account in question. Investigators reviewing the files confirmed that 46 out of the many uploaded did in fact contain child pornography. These files depicted children, aged between four and ten years old, suffering from sexual abuse by adults. According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, these files were traced back to an IP address from the Ranches at Lake McLeod neighborhood.
At the time of his arrest, Khan was taken into custody while at his place of work, a local McDonald's. His grandparents informed detectives that he was not at home during the search of his residence on Marksman Road. In an interview, Khan admitted to being "addicted to pornography," but denied possessing images of children. However, the search of his bedroom revealed 10 cell phones, hard drives, and other digital devices, along with MDMA, marijuana, and a grinder.
Khan now faces enhanced charges for the 46 counts of child pornography and additional drug-related charges. Sheriff Grady Judd, in a statement obtained by the Polk County Sheriff's Office, emphasized the seriousness of the offense, saying, "My detectives are the very best in the business - they jump into action and conduct a thorough investigation each time they receive a cyber tip regarding children being sexually abused. So far there are no indications that this suspect had any contact with children, but the fact that he was uploading such despicable images is extremely concerning, and he belongs in jail."
During his first appearance in court, Khan was slapped with a $25,000 bond per child pornography charge totalling $1,150,000, along with $7,000 for the trio of drug-related charges. Detectives intend to conduct a thorough analysis of the seized electronics, and additional charges may be forthcoming depending on their findings.
