In a move fostering local educational growth, the El Paso Community College (EPCC) Foundation recently landed a windfall aimed at aspiring designers of the built environment. The El Paso Architectural Foundation stepped up, donating a hefty $10,000 to the college's architecture students. According to EPCC News on December 19, 2025, this sum is earmarked for scholarships, bolstering the financial support system for those mapping their educational journey in architecture at EPCC.
During the check presentation, the ranks of local AIA members and EPCC Foundation leaders were in attendance. The group included Mary Stills, an architect and EPCC Foundation Board member, who expressed her pride in the local foundation's support for EPCC architecture students. "I'm so proud of the El Paso Architectural Foundation to focus on providing scholarships for EPCC architecture student," Stills told EPCC News. "It is important to make a positive impact in their education because they are the future architects of our community."
EPCC students tend to transfer to universities after completing their associate degrees, where they further refine their craft before stepping into the professional sphere as licensed architects. Dr. Dolores Gross, the Executive Director of Resource Development for the EPCC Foundation, recognized the foundation's critical role in promoting student progression and degree completion. She welcomed the El Paso Architectural Foundation's contribution with open arms, stating, "It is a great honor to accept these funds... to facilitate EPCC architecture student success at EPCC," as per EPCC News.
