
Early Monday morning in South Los Angeles, a tragic event unfolded when a man in his 70s was fatally stabbed. The incident, which reportedly took place around 5:11 a.m., occurred at the intersection of East 57th and Bandera streets, CBS News Los Angeles reported. Authorities arrived at the scene following the altercation between the two men.
Responders found the victim deceased upon arrival and pronounced him dead at the scene; neither individual was immediately identified by the Los Angeles Police Department. Meanwhile, another man, also believed to be in his 70s, was taken into custody in connection with the incident. As of the latest updates made available to the public, no additional details regarding the circumstances of the stabbing or the identity of the possible suspect have been released.
News helicopters from KTLA provided aerial coverage of the area shortly after the crime was reported. A canopy could be seen erected at the location as part of the crime scene investigation. Rich Prickett from KTLA reported from the air, "It appears that there is somebody who has died here at the scene right along the wall there."
The Los Angeles Police Department has yet to disclose motives or details surrounding the altercation, but the investigation remains ongoing.
