A quiet Spring cul-de-sac turned into a crime scene Friday morning when an elderly man was found outside, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound in the 20400 block of Pecan Brook Court, according to Harris County Precinct 4. First responders later pronounced the man dead as deputies secured the area and opened a death investigation.
In a post on Constable Mark Herman’s Facebook post, the constable’s office said Precinct 4 deputies, along with Klein Fire Department and EMS crews, arrived to find the man outside and unresponsive with a gunshot wound, and confirmed that he was deceased at the scene. The update adds that the incident "appears to be isolated, and there is no threat to the public" and asks residents to steer clear of the area while emergency personnel continue their work.

Precinct 4 deputies say they are conducting an investigation to determine what led up to the shooting and the man’s death. The office did not release information on any suspects or a possible motive in the initial update.
