A house fire in southwest Houston yesterday morning resulted in the death of an elderly man. ABC13 reports that Houston Fire Department units responded around 8 a.m. to the 2300 block of Willow Lake Drive, where heavy smoke and flames were coming from a single-story home.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control after about 20 minutes. Click2Houston stated that HFD District Chief Robert Ross said an elderly man was found deceased inside the home during the search.
Photos released by the fire department show the home’s interior reduced to charred studs and joists, highlighting the fire’s intensity. Arson investigators are examining the property, and the extensive damage may provide key information about the fire’s cause and progression.
