Elyria residents who frequent Murray Ridge Road will need to adjust their travel plans next week. The City of Elyria has announced on its Facebook page that a section of the road will be shut down for work on underground infrastructure. From Monday, January 5, through Friday, January 9, Murray Ridge Road will be closed at Lowell Street to allow crews to perform necessary maintenance.
For those needing to navigate the area, detours will be in place. Traffic that requires access to Murray Ridge Road north of Lowell Street will have to detour west on Lowell Street/Telegraph Road, then east on State Route 113 back to Murray Ridge Road. Conversely, southbound traffic on Murray Ridge Road must reroute west on State Route 113, then east on Lowell Street/Telegraph Road. Officials are urging drivers to plan accordingly and warn to allow for extra travel time during this period.
