Eager to switch up your reading roster? The Englewood Public Library might have just the thing for bookworms looking to broaden their literary horizons. On February 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., they're serving up an event called Pages & Pastries, a Book Tasting Event for Adult Readers that invites participants to explore a smorgasbord of genres.
So what exactly is a book tasting? It's an event designed to push you out of your reading comfort zone without the pressure. According to the City of Englewood, guests will have the chance to peruse selections from eight different genres, including some you might not typically consider. The selections will feature a variety of authors, from the widely acclaimed to the newly published, ensuring a fresh mix for attendees.
The Pages & Pastries event is about more than just picking up a new tome to take home; it's styled as a five-course 'menu' of books, allowing you to compile a list of future reads. This structure encourages you to sample titles across different genres, whether you're delving into a sci-fi epic or leafing through the latest historical fiction. And as the name suggests, pastries will also be on hand to sweeten the deal, making for a thoughtful pairing of food and literature.
