Euclid, Ohio is calling for its residents to take a more active role in the city's environmental future. The Euclid Shade Tree Commission announced yesterday, via a social media post, its search for a new volunteer commissioner, inviting community members who are passionate about trees and conservation to step forward.
The call for applicants places emphasis on community engagement and active participation, with no prior experience in such matters required. The selected individual will be expected to lend their voice on tree-related issues and assist in conservation efforts within the city. According to the Euclid Ohio post, "As a commissioner, you’ll advise the city on tree matters, engage with the community, and join conservation activities." It further details the requirements for interested parties, which includes being a resident of Euclid, a love for trees, and a commitment to dedicate 12 hours quarterly to meetings and events.
Those hoping to apply for the position can expect a hands-on role that not only shapes the city's green policies but also its ecological landscape. In an effort to invite more individuals to consider the opportunity, the Commission has encouraged residents to tag friends who might be interested in the role, extending the reach of their invitation.
