In a recent event, fortified by the Fairfield Police Department's social media channels, a man was arrested in Fairfield after he defied police orders and was found to be carrying a loaded firearm.
According to the official statement issued by the department, on the evening of January 16, officers responded to a call regarding a suspicious vehicle located at the intersection of East Wyoming and Taft Boulevard.
The car was occupied by Sergio Bernal, who, upon further investigation by officers, was revealed to have an outstanding warrant from Fresno County. Despite law enforcement's requests for Bernal to exit his vehicle, he neglected to comply, instead allegedly making movements that suggested he was reaching for something within the car.
The officers eventually managed to remove Bernal from the vehicle and detain him, at which point a loaded firearm was found in his front waistband. Following the discovery, the Fairfield Police arrested Bernal.
