A bicyclist was killed in Charlotte’s North Tryon Division on January 10. CMPD reported that officers responded around 11:03 p.m. to the 1900 block of Milton Road, where a green Lime bicycle was found with its operator unresponsive. A white 2024 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 39-year-old Jartarrius Jatwan Sistare, was also damaged; Sistare was uninjured, according to the CMPD report.

The Charlotte Fire Department and MEDIC responded quickly to the crash. The bicyclist, whose identity is pending next-of-kin notification, was pronounced dead at the scene. CMPD reported that Sistare was not impaired, and speed is not believed to be a factor. Toxicology results for the bicyclist are still pending.
