Former Marquette University student-athlete William Waterstradt is facing multiple charges related to child sexual abuse in Langlade County, Wisconsin. The 21-year-old track and field athlete has been charged with 12 felonies, including second-degree sexual assault of a child and exposing genitals to a child, according to TMJ4.
Waterstradt is being held on a $500,000 cash bond at the Langlade County Jail. Court records indicate he allegedly communicated with a 13-year-old girl on Snapchat while pretending to be a teenager. FOX6 Milwaukee reports that the victim believed she was interacting with a 17-year-old before the conversations turned sexual. Investigators say Waterstradt allegedly used multiple Snapchat accounts to misrepresent his age and admitted to engaging in sexual activity with the victim.
Waterstradt was a junior hurdler on Marquette’s track team during the 2024–25 season. Marquette University confirmed he is not currently enrolled, as per CBS58. His attorney, Jonathan LaVoy, stated that Waterstradt is presumed innocent and asked the public to withhold judgment until the legal process is complete.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for tomorrow at the Langlade County Courthouse, as noted by WSAW-TV.
