A former Waukesha County correctional officer, Codey Houdek, 32, is facing charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child under 13. The alleged incidents occurred during the summer of 2024 at Houdek’s businesses, Trio Pawn Shop and Stumpies Securities, according to court records and a report from FOX6 Now.
If convicted, Houdek could face up to 60 years in prison per count, WISN 12 News reported.
Houdek was charged last week while in the Walworth County Jail. The victim, whom Houdek referred to as his “adopted daughter,” is not biologically related to him, as noted by FOX6 Now.
According to Seehafer News, the child’s mother reported discovering the assaults after the victim connected inappropriate material she had seen to Houdek.
Houdek’s attorney has denied the allegations. A hearing in the case is scheduled for Friday. Houdek previously worked as a Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department employee from August 2022 until his resignation in September 2023. The investigation is ongoing.
