Fort Worth Animal Care & Control is mixing some tail wags into the mix at City Hall by giving locals a chance to interact with potential new furry family members. In an initiative to celebrate the new year, they're hosting the "New Year, New Friend" adoption event on January 21, turning the lobby into a place of paw shakes and potential connections. According to the City of Fort Worth, a select group of dogs will be waiting to greet attendees who are curious about adopting, fostering, or volunteering in the realm of animal welfare.

While the presence of these animals in City Hall represents a unique opportunity, it's only a slice of what's available. The event encourages locals to not only indulge in a momentary reprieve from their workday to meet these adoptable dogs but also serves as a reminder of the larger goal – to find these animals a loving home. FWACC staff will be on hand, providing information and answering all kinds of queries you might have about their programs.

The community-focused event will take place in the Fort Worth City Hall, located at 100 Fort Worth Trail. For those unable to attend or interested in meeting more animals, FWACC's shelters house many more pets in need of adoption and are open for visits daily.
