Fort Worth police are investigating a death that appears to be connected to the unforgiving cold. According to FOX 4 News, authorities received a call yesterday around 4:41 p.m., leading them to an unresponsive woman in a field located at the 2900 block of E. Seminary Dr. in Forest Hill.
Despite the dedication of Fort Worth Fire EMS, who, upon arriving at the scene, pronounced the woman deceased, the battle against freezing conditions seems to have claimed a victim. As WFAA reports, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will be tasked with determining the official cause of death. While the name of the deceased woman has yet to be released, no foul play is currently suspected in this case.
The incident has prompted involvement from homicide detectives, which, while a standard procedure, foretells the gravity police place on investigating untimely deaths, regardless of the suspected cause. Officials are waiting for the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office to provide clarity on both the manner and cause of death, not to mention the identity of the deceased, as per the protocol.
