In the push for energy cost savings, the City of Gahanna, Ohio, has stepped up to lead by example, marking today as 'Cut Your Energy Cost Day.' Local residents are encouraged to examine their electric supply options through the Gahanna Energy Plus program, which presents a financial reprieve with competitive rates.
The current offering from Gahanna Energy Plus lays out two distinct choices: a rate of 9.756 cents per kWh for 100% Clean Energy and a slightly less, 9.461 cents per kWh for Traditional Energy. These rates are pitched against the standard rate from AEP Ohio, which currently stands at 10.650 cents per kWh from January through March 2026. The clear message here is one of savings, with the city's program undercutting standard prices and supporting green energy initiatives simultaneously.
For residents already enrolled in Gahanna Energy Plus, inertia helps maintain these benefits. "Already enrolled? No action needed to keep your rate," assured the City of Gahanna, Ohio - Government’s social media post. Yet, the program remains flexible. Those new to the program, or those considering a change, are not locked in. They can opt in or out at any time, reflecting a commitment to consumer choice and adaptability.
