A suspect has been nabbed by the Galt Police Department in connection with a shooting incident that caused a stir over the weekend, an episode that fortunately saw no injuries despite the chaos it wrought; Galt authorities quickly responded after receiving multiple emergency calls on January 9, 2026, detailing a shooting at a large party on the 100 block of 2nd Street, as outlined in a statement from the Galt Police Department.
While no victims with gunshot wounds were present, evidence confirmed gunfire had taken place—patrol officers descended upon the scene to corral the crowd, collect evidence, and pinpoint potential culprits, such efforts leading to the identification of 22-year-old Isaac Avalos, of Galt, entangled in the day's perilous deeds. According to the Galt Police Department's Facebook post, two suspects seemingly exchanged shots, one assailant firing from a vehicle and another from the street, with Avalos later detained and brought in for interrogation where he copped to discharging his legally owned Glock handgun.
After the incident, Avalos was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of firing a gun in a negligent way and carrying a concealed weapon. He was released about eight hours later, as per the Galt Police Department.
