A Garfield Heights man faces felony charges after allegedly recording a juvenile Walmart employee in the restroom, authorities said in Medina Township, Ohio. Tyler J. Jones, 26, is accused of using a cell phone to capture images of the young employee from an adjacent stall and making inappropriate sexual advances on January 8 at the Walmart on 4141 Pearl Road, according to Cleveland 19.
The Medina Township Police Department utilized surveillance footage and license-plate-reader technology to initially quickly arrest Jones, who was later charged with illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance and voyeurism. As per Fox 8, the former is a second-degree felony, and the latter is a fifth-degree felony.
Following his arrest on January 16, Jones was booked into the Medina County Jail. His bond has been set at $65,000 with an arraignment scheduled for January 27. In a statement, the local police department emphasized its commitment “to protecting the safety and well-being of the community,” as obtained by Cleveland 19.
Detectives are actively continuing to gather evidence to determine if there happen to be additional victims involved in this case. The Medina Township Police Department has urged anyone with any relevant information to come forward. “Additional evidence collection remains ongoing to determine whether there may be additional victims,” the police department shared, according to information gathered by the Beacon Journal.
