Garner, NC's commitment to celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was on full display recently, as the local police department took part in an event that aimed to honor the civil rights leader's message of service, unity, and justice. According to a post on Garner NC Police gratefully attended the MLK Jr. community event held at the Garner Performing Arts Center, a venue that's become synonymous with cultural engagement in the town.
The event was organized by the Garner MLK Committee, whose leadership was explicitly thanked by the police department. "Garner Police Department was honored to attend the MLK Jr. community event at the Garner Performing Arts Center," the department's social media post read.
