In a recent social media post, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office reported that a woman contacted Johnston County 911 Communications around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, stating that a family member was exhibiting alarming behavior and firing a gun inside their home on Madden Rose Loop.
The deputies, who arrived at the scene, were met by a confrontation with the armed individual. In what became a tense standoff, the deputies made "multiple request for the man to lay down his firearm." Nevertheless, the man confronted the deputies with the weapon, prompting a deputy to shoot him. Despite the efforts to administer life-saving measures, the individual died at the scene.
