A house fire in Harrison Township yesterday afternoon has left a resident in distress and a woman fortunate to have escaped uninjured. Firefighters were summoned to the 800 block of Jefferson Avenue at approximately 1:13 p.m., as reported by WPXI. The flames, which notably consumed a portion of the house's rear, exposed the skeletal frame of the structure but, mercifully, did not result in any physical harm to individuals.
In a parallel account, firefighters from six different companies raced to address the emergency after the blaze commenced, shared by Trib, as WTAE reported. The catastrophe unfolded within a single-family home on the same block, where a sole resident, a woman, was present at the ignition of the fire.
Efforts to quell the flames were described as swift, with Citizens Hose Fire Chief T.J. Bajack informing the Trib at the scene, "the fire was quickly extinguished," as reported by WTAE. By 3 p.m., smoke had ceased to emanate from the structure, suggesting control over the incident had been gained.
The incident is now under active investigation, as the cause of the fire has yet to be officially determined.
