
Around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a brush fire started in Henderson near Sunset Road and Arroyo Grande Boulevard. Firefighters responded to a two-acre fire that damaged at least one home and produced heavy smoke in the area, prompting evacuations, according to FOX5 Vegas.
The Bureau of Land Management responded to a fire in Whitney Mesa, and nearby homes were evacuated. One house and some landscaping were damaged. Roads were closed, causing traffic delays, but no injuries were reported, as reported by News3LV. Green Valley High School and Thurman White Academy of the Performing Arts were not affected, though some traffic delays occurred.
