A hiker in Gold Strike Canyon near Lake Mead faced a serious incident on Wednesday due to the area's rugged terrain, prompting a "technical rescue involving mutual aid." The Boulder City Fire Department led the operation with support from Las Vegas Metro Police, Henderson units, and the National Park Service, according to FOX5 Vegas.
Emergency responders searched for over 30 minutes before successfully locating the individual. Their condition has not been disclosed, and they were prepared for transport to a medical facility.
The condition of the hiker injured in Gold Strike Canyon has not been released. KTNV reported that the person could be taken to either UMC or Sunrise Hospital, depending on the severity of their injuries.
